MONSTER

"MONSTER!" for Illustration Friday. I thought I would put something up for IF. I used scratchboard and then colored it on the computer. I hope the image is self-explanitory ;) (click to see bigger image).

PS: My images seem so unfocused when I post them. Does anyone know if there is something I can do to improve the resolution quality of my images?

Cool effect! Scratchboard fascinates me. How very lonely this monster seems....I wonder, is he awaiting someone or something that has stood him up?

So much emotion in his face. Makes me want to cry. Which means, great job!

I love the scratchboard technique. I've never tried it, I always thought it looked too tough. Maybe I'll give it a whirl.

Nice illo...you've really captured a very somber looking monster. Great moon highlights as well.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

PS: I see what you mean about it being a bit out of focus. Are you scanning or taking digi-photos of your artwork? If it's a scan try a huge dpi, like 400-600, then reduce down from there. I usually keep my web stuff between 80-100 dpi. Regardless of it being a tad blurry, your art still looks great! if you have any questions, I'd be glad to help.
